Brief

To propose the architectural identity of the facades for the pilot block that launches the new urban development of Divnoye.

Solution

Light volumes with deep glazed loggias and warm ochre inserts. Sections of different heights break up the long building frontage, and corner glazing opens views to the street.

Project scope

Facade concept, street-level and aerial visualisations.

IdeaCharacter of the block

The first block sets the tone for the district

The pilot block becomes a model for the whole new town. The facades are built from simple, recognisable devices, namely white wall planes, dark bands of glazing and warm ochre inserts.

The rhythm of loggias and the stepping of sections in height bring a large development down to pedestrian scale and give each building its own face.
