Brief

To offer dense Asian cities a flexible urban fabric that can grow and change together with its residents.

Solution

The quarter is assembled from modular cells like puzzle pieces. The modules combine housing with public and cultural functions, linked by atriums and galleries with coworking spaces and cafés.

Materials and setting

The roofs are turned into parks with planted terraces and pedestrian routes. Rooftop gardens make up for the lack of nature in dense cities and bring residents together.

IdeaModular environment

The module as a tool for a living city

Modular design gives the city flexibility. The variety of forms and solutions adds up to a "living" fabric that supports both everyday life and creative energy.

The modules connect like puzzle pieces. Housing, coworking, cafés and cultural spaces can be combined without the rigidity of conventional development.

The roofs are turned into parks with planted terraces and pedestrian routes. These "sky gardens" make up for the lack of nature in a dense city and become a meeting place for residents. Modularity here is not a trend but a way to make the environment more humane.
